Chagossian people: deported Britain from the Chagos Islands, an overseas British territory: denied democratic rights to return: made homeless in Britain 2025: ignored by Government

In the 1960s the British government evicted Chagossian people from their homes on The Chagos Islands. They were sent to Mauritius and the Seychelles. 

Some families made their way to the UK and other countries around the world including France and Switzerland.

Today as the British Government negotiates the handover of sovereignty of the islands to Mauritius, Chagossians living in the UK including those who are British citizens or, recent arrivals find themselves homeless once again. Or evicted from temporary accommodation. Or repeatedly threatened with eviction.

Chagossian people are being re-evicted.

The government has said very little on homeless Chagossians, their democratic rights to return to their homeland or their right to social housing in Britain. Why?
