Will MPs sign a Declaration to honour Chagossians’ right to self-determination?
NEWS
British MPs are being asked to sign a Declaration in support of British overseas territories' democratic right to self-determination.
The Declaration is organised by Friends of the British Overseas Territories (FOTBOT). You can read it here.
The Declaration asks British MPs to not change sovereignty issues of overseas territories such as the Chagos Islands, the Falklands and Gibraltar without the consent of the people living on the islands.
Unlike the other territories, currently there is no right for Chagossians to live on the Chagos Islands under strict British state immigration rules however.
Even so six Chagossians led by Misley Mandarin, British citizen and First Minister of the Chagos Government as voted for by BIOT Citizen, are currently living on the islands since last month.
A case on whether the Chagossian group can continue living on the islands is to be heard by the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) court this Friday 13 March, in London.

NEWS:
On 7 March The Loyalist Movement & The Belongers for Truth and Restitution of Mauritius has launched a new political movement called THE LOYALIST MOVEMENT, registered as a Ltd. company.
The Movement and “voice of restoration” wants to challenge the legal and political basis of the 1968 Mauritian independence settlement. They call on supporters to:
1. campaign to restore the borders of 1895 including the archipelago of Chagos and Agaléga
2. organize a UN-supervised Referendum for the people to choose their status as a British Overseas Territory (BOT).
“By becoming a member, you are not just joining a group, you are signing your will to return imperial legality and security of the Crown,” it says on the Facebook page Kozé Maurice.
